General Needs Housing Team
The General Needs housing team consists of two ‘Tenancy Management Officers’ who have the primary responsibility for managing CCHA’s General Needs housing. They are assisted by a ‘Tenancy Management Assistant’ who deals with the administration of the section.
Also with in the team is the ‘Income Recovery Officer who is responsible for the collection and monitoring of rent arrears and other sums owed to CCHA. The team is managed by a Housing Operations Manager.
Locality of CCHA's Housing Stock
CCHA’s General Needs housing stock is located mainly in the London Borough of Croydon , however, we also have some properties in the London Borough of Sutton. We manage over 750 general needs properties , most of which are owned by CCHA. CCHA does not own or manage large housing estates, most of its properties are located in houses or in small developments. Geographically our properties are spread right across Croydon ranging from Purley and New Addington in the south to Thornton Heath and Crystal Palace in the north.
How do I apply for General Needs Housing?
CCHA does not operate its own waiting list. 90% of empty properties in Croydon are allocated to nominees from the London Borough of Croydon, or by a similar method in Sutton. The other 10% are available for internal CCHA transfers to existing CCHA tenants only. If you wish to become a CCHA tenant then you should approach the London Borough’s of Croydon and Sutton in the first instance.
What types of housing matters do the housing team cover?
The team covers a wide range of housing matters, including dealing with rent arrear problems, Anti social behaviour, and all other aspects of tenancy management except repairs and maintenance.
