Happy New Year!

Resolutions?

Firstly, Happy New Year to my reader; I hope any resolutions you made last longer than the predicted 18th March which according to research is the very last day that people generally maintain them to. Most fall by the wayside by January 12th!

If I ever made a resolution (which I don't) then I would of the thought it best that it should be one I could keep. Far better for my wellbeing and sense of success. So, some good examples might be;

(1) Watch more TV (it's obvious from conversations in the office that I've been missing good stuff)

(2) Procrastinate more (Starting in February)

(3) Stop bringing in lunches (I think I really should eat out more)

At CCHA we're are going to have a year of new resolutions. Our new regulator the Tenant Services Authority is currently consulting on its new standards and promises. We'll be doing the same; and during the year we'll be working with residents to develop our contract with you on those standards and promises that you want us to keep - CCHA Local Standards if you will.

The problem with promises and resolutions is that they are hard to live up to and even harder if they are not relevant, so please look out for the opportunity on our website and in our CCHAtline newsletter to really get your view to us on what Local Standards are meaningful for you.

In the meantime, good luck with your 2010 resolutions; I'm off to find a restaurant with a television; or maybe I should think about that for a while........
